Saudi Arabia’s exports of chemical and related products fell by 26% year-on-year (YoY) to nearly SAR 4.61 billion in April 2026.

The value of the Kingdom’s chemical exports during April reached its lowest since 2020, due to the geopolitical crisis caused by the US-Iran war that led to the closure of the Strait of Hormuz.

On a month-on-month (MoM) basis, chemicals exports decreased by SAR 150 million, or 3%, according to data from the General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT).

Chemicals and related products made up 15% of the Kingdom’s non-oil exports, which totaled SAR 31.53 billion in April.

India was the largest importer of Saudi chemicals, valued at nearly SAR 789 million, or 17% of total chemical exports. It was followed by the UAE with 9%.

Imports of chemical industry products in April accounted for 9% of total imports, totaling SAR 75.7 billion.
