Saudi Arabia’s Cabinet approved amendments to the regulatory framework governing water factories, including a ban on ice exports outside the Kingdom.

The amendments also removed references to non-bottled water and reduced desalination shops from the definition of a technical license.

The changes streamline licensing provisions for water and ice factories by revising technical and municipal licensing definitions and removing several outdated regulatory requirements.

The Cabinet also repealed a previous resolution No. 249 related to the sector.
