In two separate statements, MAWANI said that Aldrees’ strategic project, with an investment value of SAR 40 million and a total area of 14,6400 square meters, is being launched as a vital contributor to enhancing the efficiency of Saudi ports’ infrastructure and increasing their operational capacity, in line with the objectives of the National Transport and Logistics Strategy to establish the Kingdom as a global logistics hub.

“This project represents a key step in the development of logistics services at King Abdulaziz Port, as it contributes to supporting the port’s operational capabilities, enhancing supply chain efficiency, and strengthening the readiness of ports to accommodate the accelerating growth in global trade movement,” Al-Jasser stated.

Meanwhile, Aldrees’ Vice Chairman Abdulmohsen Aldrees affirmed that the project comes within the framework of the company’s plans to develop its capabilities and expand the scope of its services. He noted that the center will help boost the effectiveness of supply chains by providing advanced storage facilities that meet the growing needs of the maritime and logistics sectors. “It will also provide advanced operational solutions that support cargo movement at King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam, thereby increasing operational capacity and enabling the company to serve a larger number of customers more efficiently,” he said.

The new logistics center of eXtra was also inaugurated, with investments amounting to SAR 30 million and an area exceeding 32,000 square meters.

The inauguration comes within the framework of ongoing efforts to strengthen the logistics infrastructure of the Kingdom’s ports and support their operational capabilities, in line with the objectives of the National Transport and Logistics Strategy aimed at establishing the Kingdom as a global logistics hub and a major gateway linking the three continents, according to MAWANI.

For his part, eXtra’s CEO Ali Mansour stressed that the new logistics center comes as part of the company’s strategy aimed at developing its operational capabilities and enhancing supply chain efficiency through the provision of advanced storage yards and warehouses near the port, thereby contributing to accelerating receiving and unloading operations and improving the smooth flow of goods.

The center will further strengthen the company’s storage capacity by 30%, which will enhance its ability to meet growing demand and support its future expansion plans. It will also enable the company to improve its operational efficiency and reduce transportation and handling costs thanks to its strategic location and integration with the port’s logistics ecosystem, he added.

Mansour also pointed out that the center will support the company’s ability to serve a larger number of brands by providing storage and handling spaces equipped to accommodate a diverse range of products, in line with growing market needs and enhancing the company’s level of readiness and operational flexibility.
