The Transport General Authority (TGA) announced an extension of the operational lifespan of vehicles used in taxi and private car rental activities whose operational lifespan is due to expire by the end of 2026. The extension will remain in effect until the end of June 2027.
The decision aims to enhance operational flexibility in these activities, support service continuity, and allow businesses to benefit from their vehicles for an additional period.
The authority said the decision grants businesses operating in the covered activities an additional period of up to six months to use vehicles that have reached the maximum operational lifespan.
This is expected to improve the utilization of operational assets and ease the burden associated with vehicle replacement, while maintaining safety requirements and the quality of services provided to beneficiaries.
