Turki Al-Maliki, spokesperson for the Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen, said the Coalition’s Joint Forces Command is implementing decisive operational measures to protect coalition vessels transiting the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, in accordance with international law and the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea. 
Al-Maliki said claims that Yemeni ports and airports have been closed are part of Houthi misinformation aimed at escalating tensions against the Yemeni government and neighboring countries.
He added that Houthi claims of a blockade are misleading.
More than 300 commercial vessels entered the ports of Hodeidah, Al-Salif, and Ras Isa during H1 2026, carrying food supplies, consumer goods, fuel, and construction materials, Al-Maliki said.
He also said the Houthi militia was responsible for the closure of Sana’a International Airport and the destruction of aircraft belonging to Yemenia Airways, adding that it had rejected all initiatives to resume flights to and from the airport.
Al-Maliki affirmed that the Coalition’s Joint Forces Command has begun implementing measures to protect coalition vessels transiting the Bab el-Mandeb Strait.
He added that the coalition will respond firmly to Houthi threats against passing ships, describing such threats as a clear violation of international law and acts of maritime piracy.
