GACA is coordinating with relevant authorities to assess damage to airport facilities

Saudi Arabia’s General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) announced that King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh was attacked on Saturday afternoon, Oct. 10, 2026, amid continued attacks targeting the Kingdom’s civil aviation facilities. The authority said the attack resulted in a number of injuries, which are being assessed.

GACA said it temporarily suspended airport operations pending a full assessment of the damage and verification of the safety of airport facilities, in coordination with the relevant authorities. Further updates will be announced in due course.

The authority also reported that the attack killed 12 people, including four Saudi nationals and eight residents: two Bangladeshis and one national each from the US, Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Palestine and Sudan.

Another 309 people were injured, including some in critical condition, and are receiving medical care at several hospitals. The authority prayed for mercy for the deceased and a speedy recovery for the injured.

GACA added that the attack caused material damage, which is currently being assessed.
