US oil inventories increased in the week ended July 31,according to data released by the Energy Information Administration (EIA) today, Aug. 5.
The results, which came against expectations for a decline of 1.6 million barrels, imply a slowndown in local consumption. However, the drop in the distillates stocks could be due to increased fuel demand during the summer season.
