Data from the US Energy Information Administration (EIA) on Thursday showed that US commercial crude oil inventories declined in the week ended May 22, amid a notable increase in domestic refinery crude consumption.

The report said crude oil refinery inputs rose by 652,000 barrels per day last week, while refinery utilization rates increased by 2.9 percentage points to 94.5%.
