US President Donald Trump said that Iran had violated the agreement with the US, indicating that Washington would control the Strait of Hormuz amid the exchange of military strikes between the two sides. 
In an interview with Fox News on Monday, Trump explained that the US would likely take over the management of the strait, arguing that it should be compensated for securing the strategic waterway.
“We’ll become the guardian of the strait — maybe we’ll call it the guardian angel of the strait,” Trump said, “And we should be reimbursed for that.”
