Data from the Transport General Authority (TGA) showed that the number of bus passengers within cities exceeded 26 million in Q2 2026, reaching 26.34 million passengers across various regions and cities in the Kingdom, up 23.2% from Q2 2025. 
Riyadh accounted for the largest share, with 20.07 million passengers, representing around 76.2% of the total, followed by Makkah with around 2.97 million passengers, or 11.28%, and Jeddah with 1.19 million passengers.
Dammam metropolitan area and Qatif recorded 835,000 passengers, followed by Madinah with 490,000, Qassim with 273,000, Taif with 194,000, Al-Ahsa with 135,000, Jazan with 120,000, and Tabuk with 56,000 passengers.
