The authority said six establishments failed to report expected drug shortages or supply disruptions at least six months before a projected interruption or inventory impact.

Another six establishments failed to ensure the availability of their registered products, regardless of price or consumption levels, while seven others did not comply with direct reporting requirements on drug movement through Rasd.

RSD system tracks human medicines from factories to end consumers using digital tools to support drug availability, enhance pharmaceutical security, and combat commercial fraud.

Under Saudi Arabia’s Pharmaceutical and Herbal Establishments and Products Law, penalties may reach SAR 5 million, alongside temporary closure of a facility for up to 180 days and/or license revocation.
