Around 117,000 contractors are now registered with the Saudi Contractors Authority.
Mohammed Alajlan, Chairman of the Saudi Contractors Authority said the number of contractors registered with the authority has reached around 117,000, noting that the contracting sector is experiencing strong momentum, supported by the large volume of projects currently under execution across Saudi Arabia.
A significant part of the authority’s services is dedicated to supporting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), given that they represent a broad segment of businesses operating in the sector, Alajlan told Al Eqtisadiah newspaper.
The authority launched several platforms and support programs, including the “Irtiqaa” platform, which provides qualification pathways for small contractors, in addition to assessing quality, governance, financial management, and safety standards, helping improve operational efficiency and strengthen companies’ readiness to enter the market.
He noted that the contracting sector is one of the main drivers of the Saudi economy amid the continued expansion of infrastructure and development projects, adding that the opportunities available enable small and medium-sized contractors to strengthen their market presence and gradually grow into major contractors in the future.
