Saudi railways transported more than 38 million passengers in Q2 2026, up 4% year-on-year (YoY), according to latest statistics issued by the Transport General Authority (TGA).

Meanwhile, mineral and freight transport declined 10% YoY to 3.7 million tons in Q2 2026, compared to 4.1 million tons in the same period last year.

Standard container transport also fell 80% YoY to 47,000 containers in Q2 2026 from around 232,000 containers in Q2 2025, as shown in the table below.

Regarding passenger traffic, the Riyadh Metro recorded 29.7 million passengers in Q2 2026, followed by the Automated People Mover (APM) at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah with around 3.9 million passengers, as shown in the table below:
