Saudi Arabia’s holdings of US Treasuries rose about $181 million month-on-month (MoM) in May 2026 to $140.3 billion, according to data from the US Department of Treasury.
The Kingdom maintained the 17th ranking among the largest holders of US debt in May.
Holdings of long-term bonds stood at $106.7 billion, representing 76% of the total, while short-term holdings reached $33.6 billion, accounting for 24% of the total.
Japan remained the largest holder of US Treasuries at $1.143 trillion, followed by the United Kingdom with $948.6 billion, and China ($659.3 billion).
