WASHINGTON — Saudi Ambassador to the United States Princess Reema bint Bandar hosted a reception at the Embassy in Washington, D.C., in honor of Dr. Hanan Balkhy, the Kingdom’s candidate for the position of the World Health Organization director general.The ceremony was held on the sidelines of the meetings of the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO). Speaking on the occasion, Ambassador Princess Reema commended Dr. Balkhy’s distinguished professional career and extensive expertise in public and global health. She emphasized that these qualifications strengthen her candidacy for WHO director general. The reception featured an exchange of views on key global health issues and challenges, as well as the importance of strengthening international cooperation to support health systems and promote sustainable health outcomes.
