Saudi Arabia is holding preliminary talks to raise at least $8 billion (SAR 30 billion) through a new loan as part of efforts to diversify its funding sources, Bloomberg reported, citing people familiar with the matter.

The National Debt Management Center (NDMC) has begun gauging banks’ interest in a potential transaction, according to the sources.

Saudi Aramco is also holding similar discussions with banks, familiar sources said, noting that both potential transactions remain at an early stage and may ultimately not proceed.
