Riyadh Parking said parking will remain free on Fridays, with a 15-minute grace period for short stays
Riyadh Parking said it will begin operating more than 3,600 paid parking spaces in the commercial strip of Al Olaya district starting Saturday, July 25. 
According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the operating zone covers Al Olaya Street from Al Urubah Road to Makkah Road heading south, King Fahd Road from Makkah Road to Al Urubah Road and several internal commercial streets in the area.
Riyadh Parking said its existing paid parking policy will continue to apply, with operating hours from 8 am to 12 midnight, Saturday through Thursday. Parking will remain free on Fridays, with a 15-minute grace period for short stays.
Parking fees can be paid through the Riyadh Parking app, self-service payment kiosks, or by scanning the QR code displayed on signage. The pilot monthly subscription service will not be available within this operating zone during the current phase.
The company said the expansion is part of the continued rollout of the Riyadh Parking system to improve the efficient use of parking spaces in commercial streets, enhance access to destinations, reduce illegal parking, improve traffic flow, and enhance the urban landscape.
Riyadh Parking previously launched more than 25,000 paid parking spaces across key streets and roads in Riyadh, in addition to activating more than 200,000 managed free parking spaces within residential neighborhoods, helping reduce vehicle spillover into residential areas and improve parking organization.
