The wealth fund has held early-stage talks on combining parts of its sprawling portfolio of ports, rail and shipping assets into a single entity, according to people familiar with the matter.

The enlarged firm could potentially evolve into a vehicle for multibillion-dollar investments across the logistics industry, the people said. It also looks to eventually bring international investors into the business, including through an initial public offering, one of the people said.

Discussions are at a preliminary stage, and no final decisions have been made on creating the new entity, or even which assets would ultimately be folded in, the agency added.

According to Argaam’s data, PIF’s strategy for 2026-2030 comprises five economic ecosystems, including industry and logistics services that include 16 companies.
