DEIR AL-BALAH, Gaza Strip — Israeli strikes in Gaza City on Saturday killed at least nine Palestinians, including three children, according to hospital officials, as Israel said it targeted Hamas infrastructure and militants.A strike on an apartment in the Nasr neighborhood killed at least five people, including children aged between 8 and 18, Mohammed Abu Selmiya, director of Shifa Hospital, said. Six other people were wounded, including four children between the ages of 8 and 16.The Israeli military said it targeted Hamas infrastructure and had identified Hamas militants operating in the area but provided no further details.In a separate strike, four Palestinians were killed and another was critically wounded after an attack on a group of people in Gaza City’s Zeitoun neighborhood, health officials said.The Israeli military said it had targeted a Hamas militant and was reviewing the outcome of the strike.Palestinians have reported an increase in Israeli strikes across the Gaza Strip in recent days.Despite a ceasefire agreement reached in October between Israel and Hamas, Israeli forces have continued near-daily strikes across the enclave, saying they target Hamas and other militants posing security threats. Hamas and Israel have repeatedly accused each other of violating the ceasefire.According to Gaza’s Health Ministry, at least 1,127 Palestinians, including at least 260 children, have been killed since the ceasefire took effect. Five Israeli soldiers have also been killed during the same period.
