TEHRAN — Iran will reopen its airspace in four phases, according to the country’s aviation authority.State broadcaster IRIB reported Sunday that phase one will allow transit flights to resume.Phase two will permit flights from airports in eastern Iran.Phase three will restore operations at Mehrabad Airport and Imam Khomeini International Airport.The fourth and final phase will include flights from airports in western Iran.The Civil Aviation Organization’s deputy director said airline ticket sales remain suspended and urged the public to follow official announcements for airport updates and ticket availability.Authorities did not provide a timeline for when the phased reopening will begin.Mehr News Agency also reported Saturday that airport operations across the country will gradually resume based on the technical and operational readiness of military and civilian authorities.The plan is aimed at restoring passenger flight services.On Feb. 28, the United States and Israel launched a military operation on Iran, prompting strikes by Tehran on Israel and regional countries.The conflict has remained on hold since April 8 after Pakistan mediated a two-week ceasefire.Washington and Tehran held talks in Pakistan last weekend aimed at securing a lasting peace, while efforts are underway for another round of negotiations in Islamabad.
