RIYADH — Minister of Human Resources and Social Development Ahmed Al-Rajhi held separate meetings with Turkish Minister of Family and Social Services Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş and Minister for Social and Family Development of Singapore Masagos Zulkifli in Riyadh on Monday. The meetings were held on the sidelines of their participation in the second edition of the Global Social Responsibility Forum 2026, held in Riyadh on October 5-6. During their meeting, Al-Rajhi and Göktas discussed a number of topics of mutual interest in the field of social development. They reviewed key experiences and practices across several priority social areas, and explored opportunities to broaden coordination and further develop cooperation between the two countries. The ministers also discussed ways to activate the memorandum of understanding (MoU) on social development signed between Saudi Arabia and Türkiye in 2025, and to leverage the framework it provides to strengthen joint work and exchange knowledge and practices across a number of social development areas, contributing to the advancement of related programs and initiatives. The meeting reflects the close relations between Saudi Arabia and Türkiye and the shared commitment to further developing cooperation in social development, supporting common priorities, and strengthening the partnership between the two countries. The meeting was attended by Deputy Minister for Social Development Badr Al-Suwailim, along with a number of ministry officials. Also on Monday, Minister Al-Rajhi met with Minister for Social and Family Development of Singapore Masagos Zulkifli. During the meeting, they discussed a number of topics of mutual interest in the fields of social development. They reviewed areas of cooperation between Saudi Arabia and Singapore, as well as opportunities to strengthen the partnership and exchange expertise and experiences between the two sides in priority social areas, in a manner that contributes to supporting the shared interests of both countries. The ministers also discussed the work of the Social Development, Human Resources and Culture Committee, an offshoot of the Saudi-Singapore Strategic Partnership Council, and reviewed a number of initiatives and topics related to the committee’s work, as well as ways to strengthen joint cooperation in areas falling within its mandate, in a manner that supports the existing partnership between the two countries. The discussions also covered ways to activate the MoU in the field of social development signed between Saudi Arabia and Singapore in February 2026, and to utilize it to strengthen cooperation and exchange expertise and practices in a number of social fields, in a manner that contributes to the development of related programs and initiatives. Moreover, they discussed topics related to the empowerment and care of persons with disabilities, programs and services for the elderly, as well as programs for protection from domestic violence. The ministers reviewed opportunities for exchanging expertise and best practices in these areas, and explored other areas of cooperation that contribute to developing social services and enhancing their quality.The meeting is aligned with the strategic partnership framework between Saudi Arabia and Singapore, and supports the joint efforts towards enhancing cooperation and exchanging insights and expertise in the social development field, with the aim of empowering communities, enhancing family stability and social cohesion.
