Construction permits issued in Saudi Arabia fell 19% to 5,920 in February 2026, from 7,290 a year earlier. 
On a monthly basis, permits retreated by 14.4% from 6,919 in January 2026, data from the General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT) showed.
This marks the second consecutive decline, as January 2026 already recorded the first year-on-year drop in the number of licenses since December 2024.
