The Capital Market Authority (CMA) has contacted local and international investment banks to inquire about initial public offerings (IPOs) conducted during 2025, amid the sharp declines recorded by a number of those companies’ shares, Asharq Bloomberg reported, citing a source familiar with the matter.
The source said CMA sought, earlier this year, to scrutinize the pricing mechanisms and the allocation of shares to investors.
The review of procedures and practices could pave the way for reforms aimed at strengthening investor confidence in the Saudi Exchange and ensuring that it continues to serve as a key financing channel for companies’ expansion and the Kingdom’s economic plans, the source added.
According to data available with Argaam, a total of 15 companies were listed on Tadawul during 2025. All of them, except Masar and Al Masar Al Shamil, recorded declines from their respective debut prices, with the two shares gaining 1% and 25%, respectively, based on their closing prices on August 20, 2026.
