Iranian state media reported early today that the naval force of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said a Togo-flagged oil tanker was targeted while attempting an “illegal transit” through the Strait of Hormuz on Thursday, Sept. 17, Reuters reported.

The war is set to be discussed during next week’s United Nations General Assembly meetings, where an Iranian delegation will be able to attend, according to the US State Department.

Meanwhile, markets await data on the number of oil and gas rigs in the US from Baker Hughes later today to assess the outlook for US supplies.
