In a statement on Tadawul, the company said this is the first project of its kind that combines the development and implementation of wastewater treatment plants and collection networks through a public-private partnership.
The project aims to reduce the environmental impact of untreated wastewater discharge, enhance quality of life, and maximize the reuse of treated wastewater.
It includes the construction of 12 treatment plants at various locations across Jazan, with a total capacity of 74,700 cubic meters per day (m3/day), and the installation of 166 kilometers of collection networks.
Construction is expected to be completed, and commercial operations to commence, in the fourth quarter of 2028 under a 25-year contract.
The company noted that it will now work with relevant stakeholders to achieve financial close for the project.
Alkhorayef added that it will announce any further developments in due course and will disclose the financial impact start date once the contract is signed, noting that there are no related parties involved.
In a separate statement on Tadawul, the company announced the award of a contract for the operation and maintenance of water networks, pumping stations, wells, reservoirs, and related facilities in Tabuk, valued at SAR 43.4 million (excluding VAT).
It will carry out the operation and maintenance works for the water networks, pumping stations, wells, reservoirs, and their associated facilities in Tabuk over a period of 36 months.
Alkhorayef expects the project’s financial impact to appear in the fourth quarter of 2025, noting that it will announce any future developments regarding the project in due course, particularly after receiving the final version of the contract signed by all concerned parties.
