Minister Abdullah Alswaha discusses AI infrastructure expansion in Saudi Arabia with AWS, Microsoft.

Saudi Minister of Communications and Information Technology Abdullah Alswaha held meetings with executives from Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft in Seattle to discuss accelerating the expansion of the Kingdom’s AI infrastructure and computing capacity.

Alswaha met with AWS CEO Matt Garman to discuss speeding up the development and expansion of the AI Zone being built in partnership with HUMAIN, as well as deploying AWS Trainium accelerators in the Kingdom’s computing infrastructure and expanding the use of AWS AI services to run models and applications at scale.

He also met Microsoft Chairman and CEO Satya Nadella to discuss accelerating AI adoption across government entities and companies and strengthening national capabilities in AI and advanced technologies.

The meetings concluded Alswaha’s visit to the United States, which focused on strengthening Saudi Arabia’s partnerships with leading global technology companies and developing infrastructure and national capabilities to support the digital economy and the Kingdom’s position in AI and advanced technologies.
