An official source at Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Energy said several energy facilities and installations in the southern region were targeted early morning today, Sept. 8. 
Authorities responded to the incidents immediately and took the necessary measures.
The attacks caused fires at several sites, resulting in the temporary suspension of some operations, an official source from the ministry said. Specialized field teams began efforts to contain the fires, secure the sites, and assess the damage.
Several citizens and residents sustained injuries of varying severity, the source noted, adding that the necessary medical care is being provided to the injured.
