Saudi Arabia’s operating revenue index for short-term business rose 6.1% year-on-year (YoY) in June 2026.
The index increased to 114.6 points in June, based on the 2023 base year, from 107.9 points in the same month of 2025, according to the Short-term Business Statistics Bulletin issued by the General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT).
The operating revenue index measures the short-term performance of various sectors of the economy through monthly indicators tracking developments and growth rates for each activity. The index covers all economic activities of establishments operating in the business sector in Saudi Arabia.

The increase in the operating revenue index was supported by growth in the activities with the highest weights in the index, excluding mining and quarrying, which declined YoY. manufacturing rose 16.9%, wholesale, retail trade, and vehicle repair increased 0.6%, construction grew 2.3%, while financial and insurance activities rose 16.9%.
In terms of annual growth rates, transportation and storage led economic activities with an 18.4% increase, followed by financial and insurance activities and manufacturing, both at 16.9%, and real estate activities at 15.0%.

The employees’ compensation index in the short-term business statistics also climbed 9.1% YoY in June 2026, supported by growth in the activities with the highest weights in the index. manufacturing rose 11.8%, wholesale and retail trade and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles increased 7.6%, construction grew 6.5%, while mining and quarrying rose 3.9%.
In terms of annual growth rates, other service activities led with a 15.8% increase, followed by accommodation and food service activities at 13.9%, administrative and support service activities at 12.0%, and manufacturing and transportation and storage, both at 11.8%.
