Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Commerce announced the suspension of an automotive distributor and a ban on importing vehicles, along with a SAR 8.12 million fine, for failing to comply with consumer protection requirements and violating the Commercial Agencies Law and its implementing regulations.
The violations also involved requirements related to maintenance services, spare-parts availability, manufacturing quality warranties, and after-sales services.
According to the ministry, the action followed the confirmation of 175 violations, including failure to provide spare parts and failure to provide customers with replacement vehicles during maintenance periods.
