Saudi Arabia’s General Authority of Civil Aviation oversees safety and security measures across the Kingdom’s airports
Saudi Arabia’s General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) announced that Abha and King Khalid international airports were targeted in two attacks on Oct. 6 and 7, 2026.
In a statement, GACA said emergency teams and relevant authorities responded immediately to both attacks.
The aviation sector regulator added that the attack on Abha International Airport killed two female residents of Moroccan and Algerian nationalities and injured 28 Saudi citizens, as well as two residents of Bangladeshi and Filipino nationalities. The injuries ranged from minor to severe.
