Inventories of refined products declined
US commercial crude oil inventories increased during the week ended Sept. 18, according to estimates by the American Petroleum Institute (API).
Meanwhile, inventories of refined products declined.
In a report issued today, Sept. 23, the institute said crude oil inventories rose by 1.7 million barrels over the past week.
Gasoline inventories fell by 2.16 million barrels over the same period, while distillate inventories, including diesel and heating oil, also declined by 2.16 million barrels.
Investors awaited the release of official data from the Energy Information Administration (EIA) on Sept. 24. Forecasts anticipate a 600,000-barrel decline in crude oil inventories.
At close of Sept. 22 session, November Brent crude futures fell 1.1% to $99.25 per barrel.
October US Nymex crude futures declined 1.24% to $94.59 per barrel.
