WASHINGTON — The US Joint Task Force Western Hemisphere carried out a lethal strike on a high-speed vessel operating along established drug-trafficking routes in the Caribbean Sea, killing four people, US Southern Command (SOUTHCOM) said Saturday.SOUTHCOM identified those killed as “narco-terrorists” and said intelligence had confirmed that the vessel was actively involved in drug trafficking.“On September 19, under the direction of #SOUTHCOM, Joint Task Force Western Hemisphere executed a lethal, kinetic strike on a go-fast vessel operating along established narco-trafficking routes in the Caribbean,” SOUTHCOM said in a post on X.“The operation killed four narco-terrorists,” it added.SOUTHCOM did not provide further details on the identities of those killed, the vessel or the location of the strike.
