The US and Iran reached a peace deal.

Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said late on Sunday that the US and Iran had reached an agreement to end their war, adding that a formal signing ceremony would be held in Switzerland on Friday, June 19.

Shortly after Sharif’s announcement, US President Donald Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform that “The Deal with the Islamic Republic of Iran is now complete.”

The agreement was reached despite Israeli strikes on Lebanon on Sunday, which drew criticism from both Iran and Trump.

The terms of the agreement have not yet been disclosed. Sharif said the deal calls for an “immediate and permanent cessation of military operations on all fronts, including Lebanon.”

Multiple sources had earlier told Reuters that a draft agreement would lead to the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, the lifting of the US blockade on Iranian ports, and an extension of the ceasefire, while discussions on Iran’s nuclear program would be deferred during a 60-day negotiation period.

In his social media post, Trump said the strait would be open without transit tolls and that the US naval blockade would also come to an end.

“Ships of the World, start your engines. Let the oil flow!” Trump added.
