Saudi Arabia’s Shura Council
Saudi Arabia’s Shura Council discussed the Capital Market Authority’s (CMA) annual report and called for a review of IPO valuation and pricing methodologies, while proposing the suspension of trading in companies whose financial statements receive qualified audit opinions.
Council members also urged the CMA to strengthen oversight of pre-listing financial disclosures, assess the effectiveness of current pricing mechanisms, deepen market liquidity, expand the investor base, and explore broader fintech sandbox licenses for specialized trading platforms. The relevant committee requested additional time to review members’ recommendations before submitting its final opinion.
