MADINAH— Emergency teams of the Saudi Red Crescent Authority in Madinah region successfully restored the pulse of a 54-year-old Indonesian pilgrim after he suffered cardiac and respiratory arrest in the southern courtyard of the Prophet’s Mosque.Director General of the Saudi Red Crescent Authority’s Branch in Madinah region Dr. Ahmed Al-Zahrani said the medical dispatch center received the report at 5:28 a.m. on Wednesday, indicating an emergency case at the site.He added that specialized emergency teams were immediately dispatched to the location, responding within a record time of one minute and five seconds. Upon arrival, the case was identified as cardiac and respiratory arrest.Al-Zahrani noted that the teams handled the case on site according to approved medical protocols. They performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation and used advanced medical equipment, with additional teams supporting the effort to ensure a rapid and efficient response.After stabilizing the patient and restoring the pulse, the patient was transferred to Al-Salam Hospital to complete necessary medical care. He stressed that the rapid response and readiness of emergency teams directly contributed to saving the patient’s life.
