RIYADH — Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan met with Qatar’s Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani in Riyadh on Wednesday.During the meeting, the ministers reviewed the fraternal relations between the two countries. Their talks also covered areas of cooperation, and ways to further enhance and develop them in a manner that fulfills the aspirations of the leaderships and peoples of both countries.The ministers discussed the latest developments in the region, as well as diplomatic efforts for de-escalation of tensions, and maintaining regional security and stability. They emphasized the importance of continued coordination and consultation, and of unifying positions on current developments, to strengthen efforts to consolidate security and stability in the region.Prince Faisal and Sheikh Mohammed affirmed their support for Qatari and Pakistani mediation efforts and the role they play in advancing dispute settlement through diplomatic means. They also stressed the need to continue joint efforts to ensure security, safety, and freedom of navigation in the region’s vital maritime corridors.
