Saudi Arabia’s non-oil business confidence index (BCI) was down 0.05% in July from the previous month, according to data released by the General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT).
The index declined 0.1 point to 56.5 in July from 55.6 in June, reflecting broad optimism across the business sector. This was supported by firms’ confidence in the stability of economic activity in the Kingdom and continued growth across various sectors.
GASTAT defines the business confidence index as a measure of optimism about future developments in the non-oil sector, based on surveys covering output, inputs, employment, as well as business development and expansion activities.
The industrial sector’s BCI inched lower 0.4% month-on-month (MoM) to 54.7 in July.
The services sector’s BCI also declined by 0.4% MoM to 55.3, while the construction sector’s BCI lost 0.1% to 57.7.
