NAGOYA — Saudi Arabia claimed its first gold medal at the 20th Asian Games Nagoya 2026 as five new medals lifted the Kingdom’s overall tally to 12.The Saudi show jumping team delivered the Kingdom’s first gold of the Games, with Ramzy Al-Duhami, Khaled Almobty, Abdulrahman Alrajhi and Saad Al-Ajmi combining to secure the equestrian title.Saudi Arabia also added a bronze medal in esports and three bronzes in jiu-jitsu during a successful day of competition.In esports, the Saudi League of Legends team captured bronze, taking the Kingdom’s tally in the discipline to three medals, one silver and two bronze.Jiu-jitsu contributed three more medals. Khaled Habab, 17, won bronze in the under-62kg category, while teammate Abdulmalik Al-Mardi also secured bronze in the same weight division.Mohammed bin Huraimel completed the Saudi jiu-jitsu medal haul with bronze in the under-69kg category after winning his bronze-medal contest.The latest results lifted Saudi Arabia to 24th in the overall medal standings with one gold, two silver and nine bronze medals for a total of 12.The Kingdom’s medals have come across five sports.
