RIYADH — The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed Saudi Arabia’s strong condemnation and denunciation of the attack that targeted the French contingent of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) in southern Lebanon, which resulted in the death of a French soldier and the injury of several others. In a statement, the ministry reaffirmed the Kingdom’s firm rejection of all forms of violence. Saudi Arabia reiterated its support for UNIFIL. The ministry emphasized the importance of holding the perpetrators of the crime accountable and ensuring they receive a deterrent punishment.Saudi Arabia offered its sincere condolences and sympathy to the government and people of France, and wished the injured a speedy recovery.A French peacekeeper has been killed and three others wounded after a UN patrol came under fire in southern Lebanon.
