Saudi air defenses intercepted and destroyed several drones that attempted to target oil facilities in the Eastern Province and Riyadh region over the past few hours, Defense Ministry spokesman Turki Al-Maliki said. 
The terrorist attempts were launched from Iraqi territory and carried out by Iran-backed militias, Al-Maliki said, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
He added that Saudi Arabia reserves its legitimate right to defend itself and its strategic assets and retains the right to respond at a time and place of its choosing.
