Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly condemned Iran’s targeting of the Saudi vessel Wadiyan and the Qatari vessel Al Rekayyat while they were transiting the Strait of Hormuz.
The ministry described the attacks as an assault on the security of international navigation and the safety of global energy supplies, SPA reported.
The ministry said the Kingdom considers Iran’s continued attacks a serious violation of international law, international norms, and UN Security Council Resolution 2817, which guarantees freedom of navigation and the safe passage of vessels through maritime routes.
The Kingdom called on Iran to immediately cease all actions that threaten regional security, international maritime navigation, and global energy supplies, stressing that Iran bears full responsibility for the attacks and all resulting damages and consequences.
