Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman received today, at the Royal Court in Al Salam Palace in Jeddah, Canada’s Prime Minister Mark Carney, where an official reception ceremony was held, after which they held an official session of talks.

The session reviewed aspects of the bilateral relations between the two countries, areas of cooperation, and opportunities for their development in various sectors, in addition to reviewing regional and international developments and the efforts exerted regarding them, according to state-run news agency SPA.

The Crown Prince and the Canadian PM also witnessed the exchange ceremony of a number of bilateral memoranda of understanding, namely:

First: A MoU between the Saudi Ministry of Energy and Canada’s Department of Natural Resources in the field of energy. It was exchanged on the Saudi side by Minister of Energy Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman and Canada’s Foreign Minister Anita Anand.

Second: A MoU between the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Government of Canada regarding the establishment of the Saudi-Canadian Coordination Council, which will serve as a platform for implementing the contents of the Joint Action Document between the two countries that represents the roadmap for the next phase of Saudi-Canadian relations. It was exchanged on the Saudi side by Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan and Canada’s Foreign Minister Anita Anand.

Third: A MoU between the Saudi Ministry of Communications and Canada’s Department of Industry regarding investment in artificial intelligence and skills development. It was exchanged on the Saudi side by Abdullah bin Sharaf Al Ghamdi, President of the Saudi Authority for Data and AI (SDAIA), and on the Canadian side by Canada’s Foreign Minister Anita Anand.
