PIF currently owns 100% of Saudi Al Nassr Club Co.
An investment consortium led by US-based RedBird Capital Partners, alongside Saudi investors, entered into talks with the Public Investment Fund (PIF) to acquire a stake in Al Nassr FC, Bloomberg reported, citing a source.
The consortium reportedly submitted an offer to acquire a stake in the club and aims to finalize the deal by the end of the current season.
Negotiations between the parties are still ongoing, the source said, noting that the PIF remains open to all options and offers.
A source close to the consortium also confirmed that investors requested Cristiano Ronaldo’s to join the deal as an investor, citing a clause in his contract with Al Nassr that grants him priority rights to acquire a 20% stake in the club if it is opened to private investment.
According to data compiled by Argaam, PIF owns 100% of Saudi Al Nassr Club Co.
The PIF previously held a 75% stake in Al Nassr, alongside Al Hilal, Al Ittihad and Al Ahli. In August, the Ministry of Sport announced the transfer of the remaining 25% stakes in the four clubs to the PIF.
