Yasser Al-Salman, Head of the General Finance Administration at the Public Investment Fund, said the fund is preparing for new debt-market issuances, which is expected to take place early next year.

He also expects more companies to be listed over the coming years.

In an interview with Asharq Bloomberg, Al-Salman added that the fund is working with the Capital Market Authority on any company that is ready for an IPO and is preparing the relevant offering file.

He ruled out the possibility that the current geopolitical tensions would affect the Saudi stock market’s attractiveness to investors.

Regarding debt, Al-Salman said international market issuances are the largest source of financing and always depend on the market’s capacity and conditions at the time of issuance. He noted that issuances will remain a key focus during the coming period.

The official explained that the fund has carried out exits from some investments in recent periods and obtained financing from international markets. It has also worked with international banks, in addition to reinvesting returns from its investments.

Al-Salman noted that the fund will continue with the same approach in the coming period to achieve its targets, confirming that the fund has long been a partner to the private sector and will continue to be so.

The new strategy places greater emphasis on strengthening integration between the fund and the private sector.

Al-Salman also highlighted the fund’s investments in Lucid, Ceer, and Hyundai, as well as complementary industries such as tires and batteries. He noted that the electric-vehicle sector has already attracted a number of other investors.
