Speaking at the 25th World Petroleum Congress (WPC) in Riyadh, Al-Arifi stated that the development finance ecosystem has helped enable strategic investments, develop infrastructure, increase private sector participation, and support national development and capacity-building efforts.

Its contributions have also extended to supporting development projects in developing countries, strengthening essential services and opening up new avenues for growth, he added.

Al-Arifi noted that the efforts of 12 development funds and banks are coordinated under the NDF umbrella to enable projects, expand investment opportunities and develop talent, thereby supporting energy security and sustainability.

He also said the NDF and the Saudi Industrial Development Fund (SIDF), in partnership with local and international financial institutions, had contributed to financing the green hydrogen project, which attracted total investments of SAR 31.5 billion.
