New service aims to expand trade links with the US, India, Morocco, and Oman
The Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) launched Maersk MECL shipping service at Jeddah Islamic Port.
The new service links Jeddah Islamic Port with Charleston, Savannah, Houston, Norfolk, and Newark in the US; Tangier in Morocco; Salalah in Oman; and Mundra, Pipavav, and Nhava Sheva in India. The service has a capacity of up to 7,000 TEUs.
The addition is part of Mawani’s efforts to strengthen Jeddah Islamic Port’s competitiveness, enhance maritime connectivity with global markets, improve shipping efficiency, support Saudi exports, and streamline supply chains.
