Loans granted by Saudi banks to non-financial government entities (NFGEs) and the private sector rose 7% to SAR 3.57 trillion by the end of August 2026, compared to almost SAR 3.34 trillion in the same month a year earlier, according to the Saudi Central Bank (SAMA).

The private sector accounted for nearly 92.2% of total loans, while loans to NFGEs constituted approximately 7.8%, data showed.

Meanwhile, loans granted to NFGEs jumped 18% YoY to about SAR 277 billion by the end of August.
