RIYADH — A 33-year-old Jordanian father of two who had been working in Saudi Arabia to support his family was among the 12 people killed in Saturday’s Houthi attack on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh.Mahmoud Hussein Al-Barqawi, a married father of two young children, had been living and working in the Kingdom for nearly two years, according to his family.Al-Barqawi was employed at a café in Saudi Arabia, where he had moved in search of better employment opportunities and a livelihood for his family.His family described the shock and grief that followed news of his death, saying they first learned of the tragedy late at night through his friends in the Kingdom.Official confirmation of his death came later from Jordan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates.The news devastated his family, who had been expecting him to return home safely after his time working abroad.Al-Barqawi’s death has drawn attention to the human toll of the attack, leaving two children without their father and a family mourning a loved one who had traveled abroad to provide for them.According to Saudi Arabia’s General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA), Saturday’s Houthi attack on King Khalid International Airport killed 12 people and injured 309 others.The fatalities included four Saudi citizens, two Bangladeshis and one national each from Jordan, Egypt, the United States, Syria, Palestine and Sudan.
