The Insurance Authority (IA) suspended Allied Cooperative Insurance Group (ACIG) from issuing comprehensive motor insurance policies, effective Sept. 24, 2026. The suspension does not apply to policy renewals and comes after the company violated supervisory and regulatory instructions.

In a statement, the authority said the measure was taken pursuant to Article 19 of the Cooperative Insurance Companies Control Law, issued under Royal Decree No. (M/32).

The authority stressed that the measures taken against the company do not relieve it of its obligations under existing insurance policies or any claims that may arise from them, taking all necessary measures to ensure policyholders’ interests are not affected.

The authority said the decision reflects its commitment to maintaining the stability of the insurance sector, improving the efficiency of companies operating in the sector, strengthening their ability to meet their obligations, and protecting the rights of policyholders and beneficiaries.

It added that the measure also aims to enhance confidence in the insurance sector and support the sustainability of the insurance market.
