Gulf General Cooperative Insurance Co. board of directors approved by circulation on April 18, based on the recommendation of the nomination and remuneration committee, the appointment of Mohammed Al Ghamdi as acting CEO.

According to a statement to Tadawul, the appointment will take effect upon receiving the non-objection approval from the Insurance Authority (IA) today, May 20.

Al Ghamdi has extensive experience in the insurance sector, particularly in sales and marketing. He held several leadership and executive positions across the insurance and financial services sectors. His experience includes managing direct sales, bancassurance, sales development, and branch management.

Currently, Al Ghamdi serves as sales and marketing director at the company. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a major in marketing from King Abdulaziz University. In April, Gulf General board approved a request by CEO Anuj Agarwal to terminate his contractual relationship with the company for personal reasons. His last working day was April 15, Argaamdata showed.
